Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors on quality of life(QOL) in Korean Baby Boomer.

Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive design was used. A total of 350 Baby Boomers, completed a self-reported questionnaire including WHO QOL Scale-Brief (WHOQOL-BREF). Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, and multiple regressions by SPSS 21.0.

Results: The mean scores were 54.32 in QOL, and subscales were 14.46 in physical health, 13.86 in psychological, 13.34 in social relationship, 12.64 in environment, 3.59 in overall QOL, and 3.49 in general health. There were significant differences by education, family income, marriage, job, current illness, live with spouse, live with children in QOL. QOL were significantly associated with sense of value, family support, surrounding assistance, communication to spouse. Sense of value, family support, surrounding people support, communication to spouse, education in the Baby Boomer were statistically significant in predicting QOL.

Conclusion: It is important to develop programs for improving of quality of life for Baby Boomer.
